No matter your age, you will most likely have seen or heard of Golden Tee Golf. It has evolved from the classic arcade game to a modern arcade game and it has now gone mobile!

You no longer have to trek down to the arcade to play Golden Tee Golf, just grab your phone and start playing any time you like.

WARNING! We must warn you that once you start playing it is hard to put down.

Here’s what we found during our first hour of play…

We were really pleasantly surprised at how quick and easy it was to get playing. After entering a nickname for yourself and selecting a golfer we were ready to go.

As soon as we had completed the basic info we were straight onto hitting our first shot and playing our first hole. The start-up tutorial made it very easy to get going as it removed everything you didn’t need in order to get started. It then nicely added the remaining features with clear descriptions of how to use them.

Golden Tee Golf becomes tailored very quickly and makes you feel part of the game. After a few shots the tutorial screens were suggesting, new hats, shorts, t-shirts, golf shoes, etc. After a few simple selections the golfer started to look like us.

The app guides you on how to take shots (it is a very simple swipe down and up in a straight line on your screen) but it didn’t make it overly clear on how to select the best club and where you were aiming. After playing the game for 10 minutes of so we quickly realised that changing your club on the right hand side of the screen changed the landing distance on the left hand side of the screen. When you combine that with basic golf knowledge of adding more club when playing up hill and less club when playing downhill it started to get a lot more fun.

Once we had mastered all of these simple parts to the game the birdies started to rain… What’s even better is that during the start of the game you have access to the mulligan button which makes it much easier :-)

Too many apps try to add too much functionality and the game becomes annoying or unplayable but we can say that Golden Tee Golf safely dodged that bullet. The screen layout is really nice and simple and only shows what you need at the current time.

We were really impressed with how quickly the game loaded at every stage. Excluding the initial load which is only a few seconds every next shot and screen loads really quickly. This really helps to keep you interested.

The main feature that we feel is missing from the game is the ability to zoom into the landing area of the ball. For all those Tiger Woods XBOX players you will know the feature we are talking about. With a simple click you can see the green and what is around it so you can aim around bunkers and other hazards.

At this stage we have really only got into the campaign section of the game which we really love but there are lots more features that we can’t wait to explore.

When playing the Old Course at St Andrews you will need to provide proof of your playing ability before you are allowed on to the course.

Make sure you take your golf handicap certificate or card to the first tee and present it to the Starter.

The maximum handicap is 24 for men and 36 for ladies.

Simply complete the form and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

If you select Yes, and your handicap is affected by the entered score your handicap adjustment will automatically be recorded.

In order to view your handicap updates, go to Handicap Tracker on the main menu:

When the handicap tracker loads it will show a chart of your adjustment over time at the top:

Directly under the chart will be a grid with more details:

Each row has a delete item if you want to remove the adjustment from your handicap tracker.

You will then be asked to select the package that you would like to purchase.

When you select the package required you will be asked if you would like to use the Fast Track Delivery service.

You will then be re-directed to PayPal to complete your order. If you have an account with PayPal you can simply login or if you don't have an account you can complete payment as normal.

Within 5 minutes the payment will be pushed to MOGC from PayPal and your account will be upgraded.

Once you have done this, click on the Handicap Calculator button on the dashboard:

You will then be prompted to select your last 3 scorecards. This will be done for you but if you would like to change them you can.

You can then click 'Calculate Handicap'

If you choose, you can update your handicap tracker with the calculated handicap.

However, it is very simple to add a course to our database yourself by following these steps:

1. Select the New Scorecard button from the dashboard

   

2. Search for the course in our database

   

3. Click 'Add New Golf Club'

   Once you click 'Add New Golf Club' you will be prompted to enter the name of the golf course.

   

   The system will then double check that it does not already exist.

4. Click 'Add New Golf Club'

   

5. You will then be asked if the golf club has more than one course

   

6. You will then be asked which colour tees you would like to enter

   

7. You will then be asked to enter the hole information for the course tees.

   

Helpful info:

• Yards is the total distance of the hole.
• Par is the par of the hole.
• SI is the stroke index for the hole. This can be found on the course scorecard.

If you would like to change your email address simply login to the app, go to your profile and tap on your email address to change it.

1. Did you order a handicap card or a certificate?

   If you have only purchased the entry level package then we do not send out a handicap certificate in the post. You simply need to print one from your account using the handicap certificate button from your dashboard.

   

2. Have you verified your handicap and postal address using the link you have been sent?

   If you login to your account you will find a message with a link asking you to confirm your details.

   You can find the messages button on the main menu.

   

   Once you have verified your postal address and handicap your card will be sent out that day or the next day depending on the time of day you confirm your details.

Once you have clicked the forgotten password link you will be prompted for your username or email address.

Once you have clicked Retrieve login details you will be informed that your account details have been emailed to you.

If you then check your inbox you will find an email entitled Account details reminder with your username and a new password.
